新加坡美食篇章之一 卤面 (Lor Mee) @ 109 Bukit Purmei Road

Hello, 大家好!我葛琳霓斯又回来啦!

这篇将会以华文发表。原因很简单:让多一些人来自不同国家认识我,间接增加我的知名度!哇哈哈哈。

其实,我也是受到《食尚玩家》里的一哥和大哥(浩角翔起)(不良)影响,也想学他们不惜上山下海为大家介绍美食。[在此要向大家说我超喜欢阿翔的啦!哎呀,我都不好意思了。]


 
 


好了,身为土生土长的道地新加坡人,我就受你们的使命,介绍新加坡的美食。

来到新加坡,你会发现新加坡有好多好多美食。新加坡美食无奇不有,那里都能寻找好吃的美食。

因为新加坡美食包含了各个种族(华族、马来族、印族和欧亚族),所以可以找到各种族的美食大朵快颐地享受。

 


我先为大家介绍我喜欢的其中一道美食:卤面 (Lor Mee)

卤面是原自于中国厦门,1950 年代被引入新加坡。

一般,卤面所用的面是黄色扁面,但是也有些饕客选择米粉搭配那稠浓的深色酱汁。如果你要鸳鸯(面和米粉)也可以。

这里的卤面还搭配了卤肉(通常是三层肉)、叉烧、五香、卤蛋。最大的特色就是 “脆脆”。根据老板说,这是炸面粉,但是你却吃不出是炸面粉。尽管脆脆在汤汁中浸泡了许久,也不会出现它变松软的现象。在吃之前,我会建议你加入蒜茸、少许的醋(老板自制的醋哦!)和辣椒,这碗卤面就很完整了。

这里的卤面让你会味无穷 - 当你把面和脆脆一起放入口中时,脆脆会让卤面的汤汁更香,有提味的作用。吃过的人一定会说赞!当地人会说 Shiok, 意思大同小异。最重要的是,吃就了,汤汁也不会变太稀稠,还是很稠,而且吃了不腻!其他地方的卤面吃了几口,汤汁变得稀薄,失去了吃卤面的意义,实在可惜。

 

 


通常,新加坡人把卤面当成是早餐或午餐,很多专门买卤面的摊位晚上就不卖了。

建议如果你要来这里吃卤面,必须要准备排队。这里不到午餐时间,人龙已经开始形成。虽然必须苦等,但是可以说得是,吃了卤面,一切辛苦都是值得的!

1. 乘搭地铁到 EW17 Tiong Bahru
2. 走到Tiong Bahru 广场的对面巴士站乘搭123号巴士 (大概6-10分钟)
3. 4 个站后便下车,过马路就到达目的地。

1. 乘搭地铁到 EW17 Tiong Bahru
2. 拦德士(新加坡是德士,其它国家称为出租车)前往目的地, 大概三分钟,$5新币左右。

How to slim down 10kg in 3months (Part 1)

Hi everyone, I am back. So sorry the lack of updates. Was so busy with my new work.

Well today, using the Public Holiday we have in Singapore, i.e. Vesak Day, I am able to spare sometime in updating this blog of mine.

Remember I said I was fat previously during my poly days? And I managed to slim down. Let me post photos of me of then and now.


See how I looked during poly days. I know many of my poly friends couldn't recognize me anymore. Since then, I have slimmed down 10kg. Now, let me share some tips on how to slim down. (Results may vary from people to people)

1. Eat lesser carbohydrates

- Eat lesser rice, noodles, bee hoon, kway teow, bread etc.
These are food that will make you grow in size. Reduce the quantity gradually. For Asians, our staple food is Rice. If you are currently eating a bowl of rice, reduce the intake gradually. For example, try to eat 3/4 of the rice this week. The following week you can try to reduce to half of the bowl, and slowly reduce to slightly less than half . And stop at the quantity your body is suitable. For me, I stopped at the half the size of my fist.

 


2. Drink more water

It is usually very difficult to get over the first stage of slimming down. The urge to eat is always there. Sometimes it is difficult to resist the temptations of the food around, especially if you have food stocked up in the house. Before any meal, drink water so you get the feeling of bloated. Convince yourself you are not very hungry and you will then eat lesser for the next meal. Soup is also a good alternative before any meal. Water is good because it has 0 calories, and keeps you hydrated. Only problem you may find yourself going to the washroom often.



3. Eat fruits with low calories

Choosing the right fruit is equally important. You may do a google search for the fruits with low calories and snack on them if you feel hungry in between. Watermelon, apple and papaya are my favourites during the slimming down. Try to cut down fruits like banana and durian.

 

4. Cut food into smaller portion

If you are eating grilled chicken for your dinner, cut the grilled chicken into cubes, and slowly eat the food after you cut it. In between eating, you can also drink water to feel more full and you will tend to eat lesser. If you eat too fast, you may feel hungry or empty though you have already finished up the meal.

 


5. Eat chocolate

Though there are people who may argue that chocolate is fattening and high in calories, but for me I will give myself a treat if I am able to stop the urge to eat. Chocolates also makes me happy. During the process of weight loss, it is inevitable that one will feel depressed and low morale because of the lower intake of food. You can set every 2 or 3 days to reward yourself if you find yourself meeting the stringent diet of yours. But of course, you need to be strict on the amount of chocolate to be consumed. Otherwise, you will be back again to square one.

 


Ok, tune in for more for Part 2 as I will share with you more tips on how to slim down. I have tried various methods to slim down by trial and error. I have been through some wrong ways of slimming down and hopefully these methods I have shared would work for you.
